Yangtze River Transportation Travel Guide

Before your Yangtze River Cruise Tour, choosing the cities to arrive and depart makes much easier for your next destination trip. As the cities along Yangtze River are Chongqing, Yichang, Wuhan and Shanghai, here I’ve connected the Yangtze River Transportations of those cities about flights and trains.

Chongqing:

Jiangbei International Airport is 20 km away from Chongqing downtown. You can easily arrive in Chongqing by flights from Beijing, Xi’an, Shanghai, Guilin, HK and more about 70 air routes. Chongqing Railway Station runs train lines to/from Beijing, Xian, Shanghai, Kunming, etc.

Chengdu-Chongqing: The daily bullet trains (D trains) only take about two hours from Chengdu to Chongqing North Railway Station.

Yichang:

26 km away from Yichang downtown and 55 km away from Three Gorges Dam site, Yichang Sanxia Airport is a small airport which has a few flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing and Chengdu. Flights to Wuhan operate daily. There is also an expressway between Yichang and Wuhan, which is about 4 hours’ drive.

There are also high speed trains (D-trains) from Yichang to Wuhan (within 2 hours), Wuchang, Hankou, Nanjing, and Shanghai every day.three-gorges-dam-program

Wuhan:

The best way to get to/ arrive in Wuhan is take bullet trains, which are available between Wuhan, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, where you have happened to depart. On Yangtze Cruise, Century Diamond will take you explore this amazing views.

Shanghai:
